WoooHooo!!! I'm finished, finito, donzo, termine!!! After 60 days of nothing but juices and for 12 days water, I am done - and as promised here are the results. But 1st I want to show you how this morning went down :

I broke my fast with this yummy papaya/dates/pineapple smoothie, and oh my goodnessssss - was is EVER good!  I have to say, I felt surprised at how fast I got full, this is seriously a full meal in a glass. You may be wondering why I didn't just devour any solid possible thing in my path instead of having a smoothie. You may even be like really, a smoothie Lorena?! Let me explain my logic: I have eaten chewed NOTHING in 60 days, my stomach has been on vacay, napping and donating all the energy it takes to digest to the rest of my body, so that it could heal itself. I want to wake it up slowly, don't you hate it when you're deeply asleep and then your 911 siren type alarm clock wakes up?! I'm being nice to my body, and so I started gently - it also ensured I didn't get stabbing pains from it being in shock! ... so it's a win-win situation ;)

My first bite of food was the beautiful piece of pineapple from my smoothie - ahhhhhh soooo goood!!! Oh my goodness, seriously guys, I have never enjoyed fresh fruit the way I do now - it's like the fast reset my taste buds, fresh food tastes amazing! I've also had a few dates and oh my wow, chewy, sweet and totally satisfying!

I was feeling all energized and happy and decided to have a mini shoot, so I could show you guys the results but it  totally flopped because it got really cold & windy, the sun went away and I felt a bit silly setting up my tripod and taking pics in my backyard lol - I tried to get at least one, here it is

Anyways, enough delaying, you guys came here to read about my results - so here you go!
  • I'm down 41 pounds & about 6 sizes
  • my hair grew - like at turbo speed!
  • my skin is clear, clean and glowing
  • this one is probably the most important one: my period pains are GONE (if you know me, you know how HUGE this is - if you don't well let's just say I was that girl who spent her first 3 days crying, in a ball, self medicating and sometimes ODing on pain killers that make ulcers in your stomach  just to try to survive!)
  • I learned so much about my body, I became in tuned with it and now can listen and care for it better
  • this is probably the second best thing: I for once feel in control of my feelings, meaning that I now don't feel the need to eat to quiet or numb my feelings! I've struggled with food issues in the past and have been a slave to yo-yo dieting for years. I do feel however that this is a clean start and I have lifestyle change instead of a quick fix.
  • I needed less sleep throughout the fast
  • no more headaches
  • no more slugishness
  • I gained a whole lot more insight on the art of self-care and self-love. I don't think I ever really loved myself enough to take care of my health and body... like really truly care and nurture it - not until now that is!
  • I am determined now more than ever to get fit - tomorrow I start running again!
I'm sure I'm missing some things, but I will share as they come to mind - I'll leave you all with this last set of pictures. I really want to thank you all for taking such an interest in my mundane little life and inspiring me to push myself and continue to do this fast even when I felt that it was stupid!

Thank you to my family and friends who put up with my share of emotional detox, you guys are the best. I also really want to thank my online friends for constant encouragement and accountability - you were crucial to my success!

Most importantly, I want to thank my Heavenly Father for the strength He provided everyday, for His sustenance, and for fighting for me when I had no strength to do so. For carrying me through life, work, school and finals. I thank Him for the insight He has given me into my body and for helping me accept that this "cross" I carry  (a genetically predetermined poor constitution and  a few food sensitivities, allergies and intolerances) is nothing compared to the cross He had to endure for me. I feel loved, accepted, and whole - I will gladly bear this "burden", and find creative ways of improving my health and helping others to do the same. I want to close this post with the following verse:

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;  your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139:14

  1. CONGRATULATION!!! Keep up the good work!!! bravo! and thank you for sharing!

  2. Fantastic Effort!
I am on Day 14, its ok ... tough at times, removing all the mucus from my body, God is with me

    1. Thank you Pete! Wishing you the very best on your adventure!

  3. Wow! This is incredible! Thanks to you, I've been inspired to embark on my own juice fast, albeit 40-50 days. If I may, what did you start at, weight-wise? I'm hoping to lose about 30 excess pounds-- right now I'm 150lbs and I'm 5'5". Is this attainable? My main goal is overall health, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I am very much hoping this might be a way to lose this weight that has been IMPOSSIBLE to drop!

  4. Hi there! I'm considering doing a juice fast myself, and your blog has been very helpful. My biggest concerns are starting the fast and ending it.

Is it possible to keep working as normal during the beginning of the fast? I know that the worst side effects tend to be during the first week or so.

With regard to completing the fast, I'm assuming a slow transition to a healthy balanced diet is best, but my question is how are you doing since your fast ended? Thanks for sharing!!

  5. Great story and great results. You look absolutely beautiful and you feel great which is even better. I'll be starting my 60 day fast on Monday, hopefully my results will be the same as yours.

  6. Great job! You look amazing! I just bought a juicer and I am looking to lose 20 to 30 lbs, any suggestions like recipe wise? Thanks

  7. I am preparing for my juice fast. But One question I didn't see in your blog, did you do enemas or colon cleasing through your fast?
    Thank you!
