CHOCOLATE FACE MASK

For all my chocolate lovers out there, here is a healthy and really yummy treat for your skin and possibly your tummy too! This all natural, chemical free goodness could very well be a dessert, but since this is a face mask tutorial, please restrain yourself!

Chocolate or cacao is great for your skin because it has antioxidants that help your skin look its best by protecting it from UV damage (hello, fewer wrinkles), fight free radicals (so long, sun spots) and increase blood flow (i.e. dewy glow!). Honey has hydrating, anti-bacterial and antioxidant qualities which make a perfect companion to the chocolate!

This recipe is quite simple, so lets get to it!

CHOCOLATE FACE MASK

  1 application

    Here is what you need:

  • 2 table spoons of raw coco powder (organic is better but not a must)
  • 1 heaping spoon of raw honey
  • approximately 3 tablespoons of filtered, distilled of alkalized water
  • a bowl
  • optional: half an avocado (I did not use this because I was in a rush - can be used for extra moisture)
     Process:
  1. throw all ingredients in a food processor for an creamy clump-free mixture
  2. OR you can be lazy like me and just mix it with your fingers :D
  3. the mix should be creamy, not too pasty but not too runny (that could be a mess)
  4. pull your hair back
  5. apply mask with your finger tips smoothing out any clumps
  6. leave it on for about 15 minutes or until it dries up (you will feel your skin tightening)
  7. you can now eat any left over mix!!! (I cant because I am on a juice fast, sigh)
  8. rinse with warm water and apply your moisturizer ( I find it the easiest to remove the mask using a face wash cloth, if you do this, just remember to be gentle around your eyes, the skin there is thin and very sensitive)
