It's been almost a week since my last entry and I can honestly blame it on a ridiculous schedule. Last week was one of those where Tuesday already feels like Friday... not fun

It was a hard week in more than one aspect. Not only was I super busy, but the detox symptoms hit me hard. I am trying to remember if last time my body felt that lousy around this time, but I really don't think so. I guess this goes to show how different detox symptoms are from one time to the other.

For most of the week I felt super tired, had a headache, had a really hard time focusing and had really bad food cravings. Last year's fast was almost entirely craving free, but this time around it has been a lot harder!

I slept a lot last week, well as much as I could and wherever I could (buses, class, etc.) Sleep helped a lot as well as a lot of water and tea.

The food cravings stopped yesterday, at least I think they have...

I'm feeling a bit more energized than last week, and last night I only slept for about 4.5 hours (my body woke me up at 1:30 am)

I am wondering if this is the actual energy stage kicking in or if my sleepless night was due to my mind going over a really awesome conversation I had with a friend earlier that day. I guess only time will tell... I should know in a few hours.

One thing I was thinking is that maybe the reason why I'm feeling a lot more tired this time around, and why this fast has been overall more difficult is because I have a full schedule. Last year I was on sabbatical during my fast so I could nap whenever I wanted to, and my activity level was much lower. I think this makes sense...

A few other thoughts:

  • I am really happy to see that my friends show an interest in my juices and many times have tried them. At work, my juices are popular and many times I've used up half a mason jar of juice on my co-workers :)
  • I am enjoying explaining to people why juicing is super beneficial and why I am personally doing it
  • I think I am falling into the flow of juicing with my new juicer (I call her Star.) I'm learning the veggies and fruits that she likes and juices well and some other that make her slow and stuck. This is saving me a lot of time and frustration.
  •  It is really really cool to get messages either on Instagram, Facebook and even here from peeps who are either starting a juice fast or have already started one. These messages make my day!!! They have such positive energy and it is great to know that my juicy journey towards health is inspiring and encouraging others everywhere!

That is all for now, Friday is my second 10 day check-in day. I'm excited about it!!!
